Enhanced Engine and Performance
Gone are the days of the fuel-thirsty V10 BMW M5; for the first time in 40 years, the sports car receives a hybrid powertrain, offering even more power and remarkable energy efficiency. It features a BMW M Hybrid system, combining a high-revving V8 engine equipped with M TwinPower Turbo technology and an electric motor, delivering a power output of 717 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque! The performance is impressive, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and a top speed of up to 305 km/h.
The engine is paired with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. The 14.8 kWh battery is strategically positioned to lower the center of gravity without compromising the interior space of the BMW M5 and offers an estimated all-electric range of 40 km.
The chassis benefits from increased rigidity and a 50/50 weight distribution, the running gear provides a more precise and dynamic driving experience.
